Tensile Test

 Tensile Test

This model was created in order to run in LS-Dyna. 

It simulates a tensile test for a steel specimen.

Pre-Processing:

 - Specimen size 250x15mm with 2mm thickness;

 - 5mm shell mesh;

 - Material card *MAT_PIECEWISE_LINEAR_PLASTICITY;

 - Extensometer - 4 mass elements;

 - Contact card *CONTACT_TIED_NODES_TO_SURFACE - this contact card will "glue" the extensometer to the specimen;

 - Boundary card *BOUNDARY_PRESCRIBED_MOTION

 - *DATABASE_CROSS_SECTION_PLANE - in order to measure the force in the specimen.

Post-Processing:

 - Stress-Strain curve:

 - Poison ratio (only valid for the linear-elastic region):
